A comprehensive course in pottery learning. You will be introduced to a wide variety of techniques for creating, decorating and firing pottery. From very simple projects to more complicated skills, surface treatments, we will guide you through the process. Basically the whole process of building finished ceramic products

Includes: ready to work stoneware clay – 20kg, 1 kiln bisque and glaze firing out of the clay and glaze provided, studio facilities, tuition
The extra material and extra kiln firing is chargeable
Day 1 – Introduction to clay – stages of clay in the process. (Participants will be provided with ready to work clay), Demonstration of Methods of Pottery: Wheel, Hand-building (Pinch, Slab & Coil).
Day 2 – Practical Wheel work – Centring and opening, Hand building – Pinching method.
Day 3 – Practical Wheel work – Making Cylinders, Hand building – Coil method.
Day 4 – Practical Wheel work – Making Bowls Hand-building – Slab method.
Day 5 – Practical Wheel work – Making Pots Hand-building – Combination of 2 methods.
Day 6- Finishing articles and loading Kiln for bisque firing
Day 7 – Introduction to the glazes and glazing articles.
Day 8 -Glazing and loading Kiln for Glaze firing
Review and FAQ session.
Students can use the studio facilities for practice – 4 days continuing to the course period
Extended tuition or guidance session from the tutor is chargeable (Rs.1568/session)
Studio practice hours – weekdays – 10am to 12pm and 4pm to 7pm (prior booking is mandatory)
Studio practice hours – weekend – 10 am to 11 am and 4 pm to 7 pm (prior booking is mandatory)
Extra clay and glazes for practice will have to be purchased from the studio or Studio’s trusted vendors only
If you like to bisque fire and glaze and glaze fire the Articles made after the course sessions – chargeable
Students are offered special concessions to use studio facilities
